3- How much money did we spend […]

Back to Auckland – 22/02/2015

In Wellington, we went south to find a free camping area, still quite close to the city, which was pretty interesting. It was, as all the time in Wellington, pretty windy. But we appreciated the view on the Cook Strait at the end of the day.

South Island, Part6 – South East, Mount Cook and back to Wellington – 15/02/2015

We started the last part of our trip with driving down to the southern most point of the south island of New Zealand, Slope point. There, there is nothing. A long gravel road leading to sheep fields and a bit of rocks, with a sign posted in the middle…

Well, […]

South Island, Part5 - Milford Sound and Stewart Island - 07/02/2015

After the epic adventure on Skippers Road, we drove further south and aimed for the Milford Sound road. We stopped on the way at Steve and Kelly’s house to say hi and enjoy a nice tea and cake. For those who don’t know, Steve is the brother of Geoff from Warkworth lodge! My last adventures […]

South Island, Part4 – Pancake rocks to Queenstown – 04/02/2015

We started our exploration of the west coast at Pancake rocks and then just drove south, with a few stops on the way. We experience our first really rainy day in Hokitika, where we spend a big part of the afternoon in the library for Wi-Fi internet and charging laptops and camera.

South Island, Part3 - Christchurch to the West Coast - 01/02/2015

The way down to Christchurch through Lewis Pass was nice, but nothing really special, just a nice long drive between small mountain ranges, along rivers, through the forest…

In Christchurch, we could sleep at Selwyn council free campsite, which was quite nice considering the proximity with the city.

We walked through Christchurch, and I have […]

South Island, Part2 – Farewell Spit to Nelson Lakes – 27/01/2015

We kept driving north after the Pupu Springs, along the Golden Bay, and reached the beautiful Wharariki beach, with white sand dunes, seals, caves, blue ocean and cliffs.

South Island, Part1 – Marlborough and Nelson – 23/01/2015

The article comes a bit late, we are so busy during this trip! This was the first few days of our trip on the South Island: from 23rd to 27th of January.

We went on the ferry from Wellington to Picton during the afternoon, that we can enjoy the view in the Queen Charlotte sound. […]

North Island Express

Apteryx, Alex and me (yes, the 3A Team) left Auckland on Monday 19th of January. The plan is to drive to the south island quite fast, but still with doing something between all the driving…

Our first stop was in Taupo, for the Huka falls and the hot river (even though it was so warm […]
